Our CEO

Welcome.
I am Dong-Yeol Shin, CEO of Powerlink, a company specializing in digital twins for power equipment.
I founded Powerlink on 33 years of field experience and R&D at the KEPCO Research Institute (KEPRI). Today, we build on that experience in power system analysis, transformer rating and life assessment, electrical safety, and failure investigation to develop digital twin technologies for power equipment.
Powerlink models the behavior of complex power equipment through PSCAD-based EMT simulation and equipment-specific module development. Complementing RMS-based system studies, we investigate fast transients and control interactions, and compare models with field and test data to improve their fidelity.
We provide expert consultation and custom modeling for AI data centers, 400 kV cable demonstration and EPC projects, HVDC, power plants, railway power systems, and distributed generation interconnections. Together with our clients, we define development scopes and validation methods, including studies of islanded systems, grid-forming controls, and the electrical and thermal behavior of equipment.
Our vision for digital twins is to reflect real equipment characteristics and operating conditions, connecting data with models to support engineering decisions in design, demonstration, and operation. Through consultation, R&D, model validation, and technical training, we work with our clients to deliver results they can use in the field.
